Mardi Gras!

Just two more days until the big party in the Big Easy ends - Fat Tuesday is February 16th! 

I made this cake for a birthday celebration with a Mardi Gras theme - everything is edible except the feathers.  The masks and beads were big enough to wear, but much tastier than your average Mardi Gras accessories.  The birthday girl chose really yummy flavors for this one:  fudge marble cake with chocolate chips and chocolate chip filling and Devil's Food chocolate cake with oreo filling.  Of course, the whole thing was iced in vanilla buttercream too.  Who needs a beignet when you can have a slice of that?
