Bats and Bones

I made this cake for an 18th birthday celebration on Halloween. A white chocolate skull and handmade bones are scattered on cookie crumb dirt around the base and a skeleton hand is reaching up out of a fresh grave on top of the cake. The creepy tree is all gum paste. The close up picture shows the detail on the jack-o'lantern. It's made of gum paste and with a face carved out like a real Halloween pumpkin.

As an extra treat, I also made a few dozen cake truffles for the party... chocolate cake and buttercream rolled into a bite-size ball of yumminess. I used purchased bones to decorate them.
