Lucky Penny Cake

I made this 3 layer 6" pound cake to celebrate a friend's 50th birthday. His wife wanted a cake that was fun and colorful and based on a circle theme. She also suggested mixing a few circular things in with the polka dots and the result is this confectonary version of "Where's Waldo?" The primary circle on top of the cake is a lucky penny from the year Andy was born and his name spelled out in old-fashioned typewriter keys. Around the sides were a globe or two, a few buttons, a smiley face, basketball, wiggly eyes, an olive, a clock (the analog kind that we used fifty years ago!), and a chocolate chip cookie.
